The Aviva Stadium is only a 30 minute walk from us making The Dean perfectly located for your trip to Dublin.
Opened in 2010, this fantastical curvilinear shaped stadium is a soccer, rugby, and concert venue. It’s possible (and highly recommended!) to take an hour long tour of the venue – have a look at www.avivastadium.ie for details. Aviva Stadium is adjacent to Sandymount Village, awash with local bakeries, gift shops, boutiques and cafes. Sandymount Strand is also a quick jaunt away from the village, head down to savour the incredible views of the Irish Sea. Grab some fresh fish and golden chips, with liberal amounts of salt and vinegar, and investigate the most famous beach in Irish fiction. James Joyce’s novel Ulysses was set here, and indeed you can see the Sandymount Martello Tower here, too. W.B. Yeats was born here and Seamus Heaney lived in Sandymount for many years. Jump on the DART from Sandymount and head back into town, Pearse St station is the closest to The Dean Hotel, a mere 6 minute walk! irishrail.ie will give you all the details you need to navigate your way!
